Hotel & Restaurant in One Software: How Charge-to-Room Billing Works

Most hotels with a restaurant keep two systems: a room register at reception and a POS in the restaurant. Every night someone matches food slips against room bills. Charge to room removes this work completely.

What is charge to room?

Instead of paying at the table, an in-house guest asks for the bill to be posted to their room. The staff selects the guest at the restaurant POS and the amount lands on the guest's folio.

The flow

  1. Guest checks in - the room becomes Occupied.
  2. Guest orders at the table, through a QR menu or from room service.
  3. The waiter charges the bill to the room.
  4. At check-out, room rent and food appear on a single folio and are paid once.

Separate revenue, one guest

Even though the guest sees one bill, the software records room income under the hotel and food income under the restaurant. You can still see which department earns what.

Walk-in diners still work

People who are not staying in the hotel simply pay at the POS as usual.

Kitchen and stock

The restaurant side keeps table management, station-wise KOT printing and ingredient stock - see our Restaurant POS.
